Welcome to the « new castles» virtual world !

Now you are in the Cybercastle ! The site is opened in the continuation of the first Summit of the cities named « new castle» all over the world, held in Shinshiro, Japan, in autumn 1998.

Eight cities took part in the summit : Shinshiro (Japon), Neuburg-sur-le-Danube (Allemagne), Newcastle-under-Lyme (Royaume-Uni), Newcastle (Afrique du Sud), Neufchâteau (France), New Castle, (Indiana, USA), as well as the City of New Castle (Pennsylvanie, USA) et Neuchâtel (Suisse).

These eight cities will meet again in September 2000 in Neuchâtel. Until then, they want to develop lively and concrete relationships despite the distance between them. The Cybercastle site will make these exchanges possible.

The network hosted on the Internet is at disposal of the authorities and local administrations of the eight « new castle» cities to enable them to converse, exchange information, continue the reflections started in Shinshiro, prepare the Neuchâtel Summit and, more simply, to easily communicate.

«New castle» citizens will also find a lot of practical information : tourist and cultural offers, training possibilities, exchanges in various fields : education, science, sports, etc. On the long run, an «on line» discussion forum will be available so enabling everyone to compare one's point of view over borders and oceans.

Cybercastle is an evolutive tool, meant for of a better comprehension between urban populations on four continents. It is at your disposal. Use it in the respect of the laws in force in your country.
